After a long, tiring day, the ox sighed and said to the dog, ""I really need a day off tomorrow."" The dog, hearing this, quickly told the cat, who then whispered it to the goose, adding a little twist, ""The master is making the ox work too hard!"" The message kept changing as it spread, and by the time it reached the sheep, it sounded like, ""The ox is upset because the master gave him too much work!"" And so, the story grew and twisted until it finally got back to the master. Upset by what he heard, the master scolded the ox.
